Doc Martin

Post by BoSoxGal »

I’ve finally got around to watching this show, which is the epitome of charming quirkiness.

But I really, really don’t much like the Louisa character - talk about high maintenance!

Love that show.

Also worth watching "Saving Grace" https://www.imdb.com/title/tt0195234/

Doc Martin https://www.imdb.com/title/tt0365130/?ref_=nv_sr_2

Doc Martin and the legend of the cloutie https://www.imdb.com/title/tt0363572/?ref_=nv_sr_3

All feature different imaginings of the Doc Martin character, before the TV series was written. (In Saving Grace he's Dr Bamford, not Doctor Ellingham.

I saw Saving Grace years ago, but don’t really recall the Doc character - I’ll have to watch it again. I love Martin Clunes and have queued up a couple of shows in which he hosts - one is about dogs and the other animals. I gather his real personality is very different from the character but I still love his curmudgeonly Doc, and get tired of Louisa whinging about him because seriously, what better guy is she likely to find in Portwenn? Very cute village & quirky characters!

I’ll check out those other links, thanks!

He was Dr Martin Bamford in "Saving Grace", a stoner GP, and nothing like the "Doc Martin" character.
