Who Said

Post by Lord Jim »

“our current campaign laws favor rich people. … There’s something profoundly wrong when rich people start buying offices,”

said he wanted a free enterprise system that "is fair to everyone and gives everyone an equal opportunity to pursue happiness."

I think middle class, tax paying, working Americans deserve to have a government that is honest, a government that tells them the truth and I believe that you have the right to know and you have the right to speak out and I am prepared to stand up to every level of pressure."

"We have a right to know what happened at Goldman Sachs, we have a right to know what happened with trillions of dollars in New York, we have a right to know what happens when companies go bankrupt. I think the country would like to know, and if we’re going to run a presidential campaign based on a record, the record has to be open to review.

I’m also for the American people's right to understand the games that are being played, how are they being played, are they fair to the American people, or in fact, as I think is the case clearly in the money coming out of the Federal Reserve, are the deals being cut on behalf of huge institutions and very rich people, at the expense of the American middle-class?
Huey Long?

William Jennings Bryant?

Teddy Roosevelt?

Henry A. Wallace?

Michael Moore?

Dennis Kucinich?

Nay Nay!

Why it was none other than that well known Hero Of The Working Man and Scourge Of Robber Barons,
Newton Leroy Gingrich!

"Newton Leroy Gingrich." No wonder he is such an angry man

Of course, he will say anything if you pay him enough. Who was he working for that week?

Oh, don't you know? Mr. Gingrich doesn't work for anybody; he merely provides "introductions."

Actually, it was this week. Yesterday in fact.

You see, Comrade Gingrich has decided to don the mantle of Champion Of The Oppressed.....

Personally, I think he's going to have a tough time getting it to fit properly....

I had thought that Gingrich had reached the outer boundary of brazen shamelessness when he attempted to claim with a straight face that Freddie Mac had paid him 1.6 million dollars for his "historical advice".....

I stand corrected....

"Newton Leroy Gingrich." No wonder he is such an angry man
His last name originally was McPherson....He changed it to "Gingrich" because he thought it sounded sexier...

(Okay, I made that last part up)

It was changed when his step father adopted him. (Like Gerald Ford)

Could this even get any more hilarious? Certainly every circus needs a clown, but this year the GOP has had an embarassment of riches in that department.

One of my colleagues retired last month and moved to South Carolina. He's a Republican, so he will be voting in the SC primary -- with the unique perspective of having lived under the reign of W. Mittens Romney. I've been trying to get information out of him about silly season down there, and so far he is resisting all attempts at conversation/baiting. I'll have to try again!
