The family is growing strong. My oldest is 17 and she has been accepted to her first choice of University. She had an interview with them for her chosen field of study this week as well. If she makes it into the program as a freshman, it's "guaranteed seat" throughout the run through school. She graduates high school this coming spring. This is the child for which we built the catapult.
My youngest is 12 going on 40. Smart as a whip and as eccentric as her old man. Loves movies and cats on the internet. "If she'd only apply herself" she'd be an honors student. Something I heard growing up all of the time
Mrs. Q is still working at the restaurant and keeping us sane (or insane as the occasion may require).
I'm still working as a sysadmin/dba/consultant for the same company (through a few different name changes/mergers). Knock on wood. I also started umpiring softball this year as a side gig. The money is decent plus I get to be out on the field as well. I don't play much anymore so any time I can still be involved in the game, especially in the fast pitch game, I'm glad. My overall health is good, but I still struggle with my weight (mostly because I eat like crap and don't exercise like I should).
And, of course, Xena is five now. She's still energetic and fit. Loves to play and loves to lie around the house, so there is something for everyone. We lost Spook (the cat) a few years ago at the age of 18 1/2.
We're all still very active in our local church, both in leadership and in youth programs.
Did I miss anything?
