I am fairly certain that I can fill any overflow orders if the need should arise.
I expect to go straight to hell...........at least I won't have to spend time making new friends.

Ownership of one of those is illegal in Australia, I think.

And all kidding aside, the AR15 model used in Newtown Conn, was not banned by the previous federal assault weapons ban nor unde thte tougher Conn. assault weapons ban. And AFAIK it is legal to own in NY which has some of the toughest gun laws in the USA.
Rocks don't kill people, people getting hit by rocks are killed people.

The d@mned child killer in CT wasn't even the owner of the firearm in question.
Any criminally-inclined person can get a hold of ANY firearm in the US.
All one need is patience and money.
I have what I need in the way of firearms, so pass all the bone-headed legislation ya want!

Having guns is not my concern, being able to legally obtain guns is my concern.
Been waiting on my pistol premit, after which I will go for a concealed carry permit. Not that I am going to get a pistol, just to have the permit if I ever want a pistol. Don't know if the new NY gun laws affect my permit application.

I don't know about NY but Pa requires you to purchase a pistol to apply for a permit. The weapon must be in the custody of a licensed firearms dealer until your permit is issued. I had a carry permit for years.oldr_n_wsr wrote:Having guns is not my concern, being able to legally obtain guns is my concern.

One needs a permit to purchase a pistol. And just because you have a NY state permit (even a carry permit), does not mean you can enter NY City with that pistol. You need a seperate NY city permit.
I doubt I will get the permit anyway. One of the questions is "Have you undergone treatment for alcohol addiction?" (or something like that). I answered a truthful "Yes".

Here's the dope in CA:
What is the process for purchasing a firearm in California?
All firearms purchases and transfers, including private party transactions and sales at gun shows, must be made through a licensed dealer under the Dealer Record of Sale (DROS) process. California imposes a 10-day waiting period before a firearm can be released to a buyer or transferee. A person must be at least 18 years of age to purchase a rifle or shotgun. To buy a handgun, a person must be at least 21 years of age, and either 1) possess an HSC plus successfully complete a safety demonstration with the handgun being purchased or 2) qualify for an HSC exemption.
As part of the DROS process, the buyer must present "clear evidence of identity and age" which is defined as a valid, non-expired California Driver's License or Identification Card issued by the Department of Motor Vehicles. A military identification accompanied by permanent duty station orders indicating a posting in California is also acceptable.
If the buyer is not a U.S. Citizen, then he or she is required to demonstrate that he or she is legally within the United States by providing to the firearms dealer with documentation that contains his/her Alien Registration Number or I-94 Number.
Purchasers of handguns are also required to provide proof of California residency, such as a utility bill, residential lease, property deed, or government-issued identification (other than a drivers license or other DMV-issued identification).

Each state has it's own laws regarding guns. Also, some cities have their own laws. If I were to obtain a pistol permit in Suffolk county it would not be "honored" in NY city. Meanwhile, I cannot get to other parts of NY state without going through NY City. actually I can if I go east and get on a ferry that takes me to either connecticut or rhode Island, then drive across those states back into NY state.

Drive to Arizona, buy gun, drive back.
Take a big sack of money and drive to the Bayview district in San Francisco in an old car. You should always have a minimum of two large black men with you that have concealed firearms.
Park at the corner of Third Avenue & Palou. Ask one of your black friends to say to the first person that walks by, "I'm lookin' for a piece. You got connections?"
Wait a short time for the big black Lincoln Navigator that will show up and follow it into a nearby warehouse.
Select the weapon(s) you want and purchase them.
Go home and never try that again.
