A new frontier in country music

Post by Scooter »

Steve Grand became an overnight sensation when his gay-themed music video, “All American Boy,” went viral shortly after being posted on YouTube last week.

The video has racked up more than 650,000 views in just six days—an accomplishment on par with some of the most successful artists currently working in the music industry.

So does this mean that now someone will write a song about how his truck broke down, his dog died, and his boyfriend left him? :D

I'm just a small town guy
And that's all I'll ever be
I'm just a small town guy
Hey, that's alright with me

I hate to be fishin' with grandpa on the lake
I'd rather get all glammed up,
Fake eyelashes on my face
Cut off jeans and an old ball cap
A town so small you don't need a map
That's where I'm from and there ain't no changing me
For Christianity, by identifying truth with faith, must teach-and, properly understood, does teach-that any interference with the truth is immoral. A Christian with faith has nothing to fear from the facts

My husband who is quite straight is a gay magnet. Seriously, I have seen men put the make on him a number of times with me SITTING RIGHT THERE. There was a little dive we used to go to and one of the servers was screamingly gay. This guy would put his hand on husband's shoulder and call him "hon". We would order the same dessert and husband would get a giant serving and I would get a tiny sliver of whatever. We found it hilarious, but we were both nice about it and never took the guy to task. My husband is a very big, muscular guy and quite hirsute. He could easily get physical to set things straight (pun intended) but he always takes it in good humor.

Hopefully this video can plant a seed for tolerance.

People that are comfortable in their sexuality don't mind if they're "hit on" by people of the same sex. I've found it amusing when it's happened to me. 8-)

Your collective inability to acknowledge this obvious truth makes you all look like fools.

I've never been hit on by a gay. :loon

I did get hit on by a lady once when my son was first born. I went to the supermarket to get some stuff for the son and wife, diapers, maxipads, formula, wipes, etc. I'm at the checkout and the lady infront of me has what looks like the makings of a meal. We are making small talk (crappy day out, glad it's friday....) and she goes, "I'm cooking dinner for myself, care to join me?". I was startled but I said to her, "look at what I am buying". She just said "srry, I didn't see that".

I've been "hit on" by a gay bloke more than once. It's not as flattering as being hit on by a member of the opposite sex, as it carries little sense of adventure.

Gay country music singers, will they succeed ? It depends on how good they are and the image they present. Remember the Dixie Chicks?
I expected to be placed in an air force combat position such as security police, forward air control, pararescue or E.O.D. I would have liked dog handler. I had heard about the dog Nemo and was highly impressed. “SFB” is sad I didn’t end up in E.O.D.

No I don’t even if I were gay I would not be, but I am fond of country music when it is good.

Gob you are letting youth prejudice show; there is such a thing as good country music. Just listen to the song “Rocky Top Tennessee “ then give me your opinion. Better still could you post a link here and let the member vote on if they like the song or not.

Try it Mate and see if you like it and I will then tell you something about the song that might surprise you.

Gob I love you man, but Blue Grass is a style of country music. Which range from Honky-Tonk to country-rock and from Johnny Cash to the Dixie Bitches.

The song Rocky Top Tennessee was written by a song writing team that specialized in rock n roll one evening when they were and bored and decided they wanted to try something different.

It's a branch of country I'll grant you, but it's not what I think of when country is mentioned. It can be an amazing display of virtuosity.

Don't forget Gob... You know fuck all about music!

Quad himself said so.
Why is it that when Miley Cyrus gets naked and licks a hammer it's 'art' and 'edgy' but when I do it I'm 'drunk' and 'banned from the hardware store'?

You are quickly approaching/overtaking the poster who claims to be called "Dave" in the category of Top Board Misogynist. What, because the Dixie Chicks have opinions and are willing to express them, you can call them names? Outspoken women scare the hell out of you, don't they.

It was not what they said but where they said it.)

Well, yes and frustrates me too sometimes; I am married to such a woman, but I will make scientist out of her someday.

Also, I love her very much, but have absolutely no control over her actions even when they are not in her best interest. However, since she has accepted me as her weight coach she has brought her weight down from 270 pounds to 219. I was really worried about her, but now I am starting to think that her chances of long term survival are better.
