Wes apparently believes that when we elect a President, that person is supposed to become the unquestioned dictator with unfettered powers, subject to no check on anything they chose to do, until we have the next election...(Well, at least if it's a President he happens to approve of...)
That is how it works in some countries, (Russia comes immediately to mind) but that is
NOT how it works
here....
Under
our system, the process of reviewing the actions (and the actors) of government is a constant and ongoing one. This is absolutely essential to prevent tyranny. The architects of the Constitution well understood this and that's what they deliberately built in remedies against tyrannical encroachment beyond simply holding elections.
As Madison famously wrote in Federalist 51:
If men were angels, no government would be necessary. If angels were to govern men, neither external nor internal controls on government would be necessary. In framing a government which is to be administered by men over men, the great difficulty lies in this: you must first enable the government to control the governed; and in the next place oblige it to control itself. A dependence on the people is, no doubt, the primary control on the government; but experience has taught mankind the necessity of auxiliary precautions.

Apparently you don't think much of the "auxiliary precautions"....
Have you ever read
