But I am sure that by entering the fire each time with your can of gasoline dispensed as superior wisdom
Yes, I have to say that it's puzzling...
You would think that after all these years, he would realize that whenever he jumps into an interpersonal dispute with this holier-than-thou stuff, the
only thing he accomplishes is to prolong and fan the flames of the exchange... (Well that, and getting people pissed off at
him...and in this case he's also pissed
me off with his ridiculous and gratuitous attempt to draw an equivalence between me and rube...

)
In all the many,
many times he has done this, prolonging the argument, fanning the flames, and getting people pissed of at him have been the
only results of his jumping in....
Every single time, without exception....
Not once, not a single time, have his "interventions"
ever resulted in anybody saying anything
remotely like this:
"Gosh General, you're so right. My behavior has been awful, I've been a complete fool. Thanks for waking me up."
But yet, it appears he keeps expecting that to happen...
Meade is obviously not a stupid person, so it really makes me wonder why it is that he keeps doing the same thing over and over and over, when the results have been uniformly 100% negative...
Why is he not learning from this? Is it secretly his
desire to prolong and inflame personal disputes?
I suppose that's possible, but personally I highly doubt it...Meade doesn't seem like that kind of double-dealing game player. I think that he
somehow manages to sincerely and honestly believe, despite the absolute 100% evidence to the contrary, that these interventions of his will accomplish something positive. How he manages to convince himself of this absolutely mystifies me....
Like the old saying goes, "The definition of insanity is doing the same thing over and over expecting a different result"...
