I think you'd have to at least become a teenager in the 60s in order to be considered part of the 60s generation (musically speaking). I don't think that Jim qualifies.

I do.  Born in 1954, turned 13 in 1967.  And was a member of the DJ Club my freshman/sophomore years (we played the records for the dances/sock hops) in high school.

I was born in August of 1959, but had much older siblings and due to that influence consider my self more closely aligned to the 60's and it's music. All that means is I am much cooler than you are 70's boy.

I suppose at 14 I could have run away for a few days and hitch-hiked to Woodstock if I had wanted to.
Had I done something like, though, I think my Dad would have made sure I never saw my fifteenth birthday.....

And while the draft was winding down when I registered in 1972, the possibility was still there; there was still an American presence in 'Nam until 1975, if I remember correctly.  Not to mention that one could still have been inducted, trained, and sent to Europe since the Cold War was still going on and occasionally showed a hot-spot or two from time to time.

Well LJ, how about those who were old enough to go to Woodstock but couldn't afford to leave their jobs and country to go to Woodstock but saw the movie and bought the LP?

Couldn't face the draft... you had to be a USian to do that. I was busy demonstrating against Vietnam and hurling old pennies back at skinheads chanting "USA USA USA"

yeah, that seventies show was pretty close to my youth..., those guys were like the older siblings of my friends. but my friends Iand I sat in the circle with the bong all through senior high.
