That song is about what?
Re: That song is about what?
Are you referring to Manfred Mann's cover of Blinded By The Light?

Re: That song is about what?
Can't be, it contains no mention of any feminine products.Jarlaxle wrote:Are you referring to Manfred Mann's cover of Blinded By The Light?
I was thinking Maybelline.
Sometimes it seems as though one has to cross the line just to figger out where it is
Re: That song is about what?
What the hell are you smoking?! Maybelline only mentions one hot rod, the singer's "V8 Ford".

More feminine products than are mentioned in Blinded by the light...

Got it Jar
I've listened to that song countless times and there a only once or two times you could charitably say he's saying "deuce" all the other times he's clearly making a "sh" sound

Okay... There's all kinds of things wrong with what you just said.

Me too.Lord Jim wrote:I read somewhere that he claims that was an "accent" issue....
As Jar points out it was a cover, Bruce Springstein did the original you don't think Mann read the lyrics?
So what about the other song?
Joe got the number correct he just didn't post her name, right?

Re: That song is about what?
there is quote the difference between Springsteens original and Mr Manns version. For one Springsteen clearly says Deuce and doesn't repeat it nearly as much. It's not about reading the lyrics as much as what is sung. I can't buy accent when he says words like summer, season, "some silicone sister" etc... perfectly fine.
what we got here is
first as "Jenny (867-5309)" than as Jenny/867-5309 and most recently as 867-5309/Jenny

Re: That song is about what?
You've obviously never heard Manfred Mann's cover of the Beach Boy's 'Little Deuce Coupe'.
Re: That song is about what?
The fact that Chris Thompson actually sang most of it may have something to do with it.

Re: That song is about what?
Mann changed the line: Springsteen sang "cut loose like a Deuce", Mann sang "revved up like a Deuce". Mann also cut out a couple verses...the original is a much longer song. Useless trivia: it was Bruce's first single!Crackpot wrote:there is quote the difference between Springsteens original and Mr Manns version.
