Actually, dgs, that's not my understanding of where managed care groups (HMOs and PPOs) came from; indeed, it was an employer effort to limit the cost of traditional indemnity insurance by limiting choices of providers to a network, and underwriting primary care to avoid more costly problems requiring hospitalization (paid for by the traditional indemnity policies). The theory was that underwriting this care would promote better health, and premiums would be reduced. this must be true because few employers even offer a traditional indemnity option anymore (I hung onto mine as long as possible because I liked the flexibility).

I was wondering this morning which way round it really might be. After all, the man's been knee-deep in abortions when it suited and then hypocritically (perhaps) comes out against. Could not the heading with equal validity be "More hypocrisy from the pro-abortion crowd"?

Either way it's not savoury.
