It's exciting watching your offspring take steps towards their adult life. I have been enjoying every moment of the Hatch's progress. We purchased her formal/prom gown yesterday. She looks magnificent in it.

:D
I remember my daughters prom night. Daddy with shotgun, daughter going to prom with gay guy (who happens to be a really really nice guy and is always welcome in my house). Lost all my thunder.

That would certainly take the wind out of your sails!

If she makes it into the program as a freshman, it's "guaranteed seat" throughout the run through school. She graduates high school this coming spring. This is the child for which we built the catapult.
She got her acceptance letter from them today. She's IN!!!!!! :D

Of course, the acceptance letter came with a tuition deposit requirement :o

I am soooo glad that is behind me. Having had an honor student who actually worked at her studies, I couldn't say no to her choices (she made good ones).
Good on yours. Support and help, but let them earn their wings.

To be more precise they top out at 3786 feet which is in fact over 3,200 feet and is also over 3,000 feet just as it is over 3,700 feet. It is a small geological feature of no real importance. The highest point in the state is Mount Whitney at 1,4505 feet.

Now in South Africa they'd read that as 1.4505 feet, using the comma instead of the full stop in numbers. Pretty small for a Mountie.

Competition time: name another geological feature of no real importance.
Ben Nevis comes to mind.

That's XENOPHOBIA! Ask for it by name next time you need to whip up some mindless hatred to get the vast multitudes of dull but mean on your side.

Everyone hates and fears foreigners, don't they?
