A friend on facebook said her older cousin, when they were kids, locked her in a shed with a skunk. It beats all the tales of the things my brother did to me.

I used to kill skunks as part of my job when I was animal control.

I have found the following to be true, although not original by me, Skunks don't produce the worst smell they do however produce the MOST smell...

My cyber-research has taught me that the Tasmanian Devil is one of the stinkiest creatures on earth. I suspect the smell mostly comes from down under....

When I was a younger person, my cousin and I cuaght a skunk in a hav-a-hart trap (we were hoping for a racoon). We both got sprayed releasing it and had to burn our clothes and bath multiple times. Tomatoe juice does not get rid of the stink (contrary to popular belief). Vinegar and lemon juice produced the best results.

I recall hearing that domesticated skunks make good pets. It would be fun to take one out on a leash and walk through town.

I have a cousin who had a pet skunk. Sweetest little thing ever. Scent gland removed of course.

Only problem (after that of course) is that they are by nature, nocturnal.

I didn't know of the word or the habit either. Accidental discovery and it explains why I see so many while biking.

I've only seen them at dusk to night. But then again, I don't venture out in the woods much in the morning. If I do go out early, I go fishing and we all know skunks don't take baths.

This seems like a good thread to point out that we're approaching 100,000 posts here at Plan B.

Does the person who posts the 100,000th get a prize?

An amazingly stupid guy who had spelling & grammar problems once explained what would happen if he were banned from Plan B. He said, "same think I told you: dead board. you got what, 6 people left? who you going to pick next. you have to have SOMEONE.

you cannot live without being a troll"... :D
