Data from last year's census today revealed the stunning decline of religion in the UK - with the number of Christians dropping by more than 4million.
Just 59.3 per cent of people in England and Wales now describe themselves as followers of Christianity, raising the prospect that Christians could soon be in the minority.
Following a decade of aggressive anti-religious campaigning by high-profile atheists, a quarter of Britons now say they have no faith.
In addition to the huge spike in atheists, the proportion of Muslims has risen from 3.0 per cent to 4.8 per cent since 2001.

Maybe they should try bigger glasses of communion wine?
Give out collectable figurines with each service? They could make Lot's wife out of actual salt. Balaam would have to have a talking ass, of course. The kids would love that one.

I wonder who'd win the audition for the part?Balaam would have to have a talking ass, of course.
For Christianity, by identifying truth with faith, must teach-and, properly understood, does teach-that any interference with the truth is immoral. A Christian with faith has nothing to fear from the facts

Jezebel! The pre-teen boys would love that one.
Or "prophets of Israel" bobble heads! Collect the whole set and win an indulgence!
Or for your REALLY determined collectors try the "Wives of Solomon" set.

In my past few jobs I have dealt extensively with central-Europeans (Germany, Austria, France, Benelux).
NONE of them ever go to church, but ALL of them love the cornucopia of annual "religious" holidays.
Why so few jews in Great Britain?

The UK has the 5th largest Jewish population in the world. This in spite of the fact that after the Edict of Expulsion in 1290, significant Jewish immigration did not resume until emacipation was finally granted in the 19th century.
"[A] decade of agressive anti-religious campaigning by high-profile atheists"? Please. If people's religious faith could not stand up to being exposed to contrary voices in the public sphere, then they had no real faith to begin with.

I have no religion, but I do strive to have spirituality.
In the rooms I did hear someone say:
"The Religious are those who pray they won't go to hell.
The Spiritual are those who have been there."
I am not knocking anyone who is religious, more power to you, just that organized religion is not for me.

Have you considered disorganised religion?
