The Blizzard of '12

Post by TPFKA@W »

I can't recall a blizzard since '78. I will be staying in accommodations closer to work and riding it out.

What fun. The orange bits are the blizzard area. I live just out of Indy slightly west. Whooohooo.

Stay as safe and warm as possible, Bette. Good luck.

(And thanks for the heads-up; I sometimes have to drive to or through the Indianapolis area, and I'm often pretty lazy about checking the out-of-town weather before I leave.)

I've been through a few blizzards..

If you've got a full fridge and pantry, movies to watch, and don't have to go anywhere, they're actually not too bad...

But man, they are miserable to deal with if you have to get around and go back and forth from work in one... :(

Yeah, that sucks. Can you get home to ride out the storm?

Actually Jarl I left home to be closer to work since the commute would be impossible. Hubby surprised me by showing up and taking me out for dinner. I just kissed him bye and he is on his way to ride out the storm at home.

Thanks all for warm thoughts.

I woke up at a bit before 4 am and nada. Not one stinking flake. It was supposed to start at 1am. I could have slept in my own bed with my snuggle bunny. Bastard meterologists.

Mind you, it's not unusual for a lady to be disappointed by men who promise 15 inches . .

It's about 1330 here and I think we have a foot on the ground. It does not look especially blizzardy outside now. I am hopeful I will make it back to the motel at quittin' time.

So how are you making out TPFK@W?
They are talking snow/freezing rain/sleet/hail here on the Island of Long? More inches west and north of us this afternoon/tonight.

They fed us lunch for free the magnanimous bastards. Otherwise work as usual. Reports from down Bloomington way of thunder and lightening mixed with blizzard. Ain't Ma Nature an awsome high ridin' bitch?

Well Jarl I think your thesis was already proven correct by this:
Actually Jarl I left home to be closer to work since the commute would be impossible
Key inexplicable idea: "to be closer to work"

First key missed opportunity: "the commute would be impossible".

Oh shame, shame - having to stay home and not go to work . . . :shrug :ok
