You think that is good news. But it isn't.

Now Home Depot needs to get you hooked into another DIY job. This is just a pause.

You will be re-tiling the ceiling soon ... you know it ... you won't be able to help it.

I suggest you seek help at DIY-Anon.
Bah!

No. But you will be a source of wonderment for your child if yo u keep on with this reckless DIY hobby you have.

You will be seen as a wizard with woodwork, a magician with mechanical bits and a conjurer of cupboards and shelving units.

Accept it as your lot CP. Tiny Crackers will be stoked with their Dad and his skills once they are about 3 years old.

:)

Coupla cute kids and (grand)dads stories, I've been dying to find a thread for:

A father and his three? four? year old are cruising the Hardware department, and this looks like Jr's first time in a Home Depot. Dad had told him, they were going someplace to get tools and materials to fix the house and this was the place! So much! Something in his little toddler mind registers this as some form of toy store (Perhaps the only other warehouse type place he'd been in) What to get? What to get? What ever it was, he wanted some to! So, dad had to find something amongst the power tools, saw blades and propane gas tanks that was suitable for children under 5. Luckily, Dad came upon a canvas nail apron that not only did he give to his son, but let him wear in the store. [Yay! this he knew. This was like a finger-painting apron. Tools were fun toys.] To top it off Dad, gave him a package of carpenter pencils to put in the pockets... So cute, I had to comment, "You look like a builder, are you a builder?" Blank stare, look to Dad to see if this is OK. I tried again, "Are you and Daddy gonna build something?" Dad's smiling, so Jr. nods 'Uh-huh!'
'Oh, you're a builder! Like Bob the Builder, right?'
'Yea!'
'Good job!'

I give him thumbs up. :ok ...and off he goes so proud he's a builder, already. Building was going to be fun!

Kute Kid Story #2;

Grandpa comes into Home Depot with tiny grandson in tow. Grandpa doesn't want to carry him, but wants him to keep up, so says get on your 'Big Wheel' (American plastic tricycle) and you can ride around easily on the warehouse concrete, while we shop. This Jr. is also delighted, for he has also been given an important job: he is to carry the goods Grandpa purchases- they can fit behind his seat on his Big Wheel ...at first. When I meet up with Grandfather and Grandson, they've got just a little bit of what they want. As the items start piling up, they start sliding off the back of the trike too, oops!
Not to worry I say, I know where the empty inventory cardboard boxes are! And with a few fits of the right-size box for the back of the bike, Grandpa has a self-propelled shopping cart, and a self-satisfied grandson. :ok
