No it wasn't Gob undressing to come to bed! It was God! King! And west-county comedian ... Bill Bailey.

The guy at the KwiK-E-Mart always has 'the George Lopez' (America's Mexican) show on when I come in. On television his act is toned down a lot; those are the whitest Mexicans I've ever seen ...but it's still a funny show. His stand-up, however, (which I've never seen live ~his ticket prices, chingo! He should be America's Richest Mexican!) is so hilariously funny, I toot a little sometimes!

I saw him live Lo. HE was brilliant, funny and inspirational. He is also one of the few comics I know who doesn't swear or use toilet humour in his routine.

He brands himself an existential comedian ... (but only when it suits him.)

I thought Hatch was going to need oxygen she was laughing so hard. He was brilliantly funny, his bounce back of comments from the audience (not really heckles as he's too lovable to heckle) were well crafted and controlled. His musical spots were out of this world, I was half gobsmacked by his musical talent, and half hurting with laughter during them.

Bailey was listed by The Observer as one of the 50 funniest acts in British comedy in 2003, and in 2007 he was voted number seven on Channel 4's hundred greatest stand-ups. Bill Bailey is a patron of International Animal Rescue.

Bailey is a talented pianist and guitarist, and has perfect pitch; of this he has said

"Perfect pitch ... occurs entirely at random in about one in every 10,000 of us, and I'm one of them. From as early as I can remember, I was able to pick out the pitch of things, not just instruments but washing machines, vacuum cleaners, dentists' drills."[16]

His stand-up routines often feature music from genres such as jazz, rock (most notably prog rock from the early seventies), drum'n'bass, rave and classical, usually for comic value. Favourite instruments include the keyboard, guitar, theremin, kazoo and bongos. He also mentioned in an interview that he has achieved Grade 6 Clarinet. He was also part of punk band Beergut 100.
