Sorry

Post by oldr_n_wsr »

Just a note to say I was a little off my game yesterday (maybe the day before also), not that I have much of a "game" anyway. I had forgotten to take my anti-anxiety pills for a few days prior. (If they are not where they usually belong I forget nad they were moved for whatever reason). I was pissed at mostly everything and may have made incorrect assumptions and forgot basic math and things like that.

I was not drinking although I did think about it more than once yesterday. Good thing I have my sponsor on speed dial.
So if my posts seemed out of sorts along with my demeaner, I'm sorry to any and all. I hope to do better in the future.

In the meantime, I will be working on getting the sh%$ out of the shed this weekend and propping it up although they are saying another 3-4 inches of snow tonight.

Everyone, enjoy your weekend we have off on monday (Washingtons Birthday, although they call it "Presidents day")

I know how that goes. I often get to the point where I know I'm being irrational yet in able to stop it (luckily it is becoming less and less often)
Okay... There's all kinds of things wrong with what you just said.

Not a problem oldr...

I think everybody knows that you're one of the gentlemen on this board, (certainly more so than I am) you don't use abusive language, and you have no problem admiting when you've been mistaken about something.

This thread is yet more proof of your basic good quality as a person. :ok

There are folks who do that here all the time, and never apologize for it.... 8-)

Oldr, no need to apologize for your opinions. I've been cranky myself this week - I think I'm having a delayed stress reaction from the storm and its aftermath. And frankly the continuous sound and dust from the heavy equipment doing the clean up, and having to be home for various utility companies and insurance adjusters who are never on time, has gotten wearing.

Plus I'm in the middle of a several day long fight with my swede and I'm not sure either of us know exactly why I'm so mad at him right now. Sigh.

Here's to sunlight and warmth and a long tall glass of iced tea!

Too bad NY City is supposed to get 1-3 inches more snow tonight, 6-8 out here on the Island.

But I will have an iced tea. For Christmas my wife bought me an iced tea maker the non sweetened kind. I love it. unseetened iced tea with some lemon.....mmmm.mmmmm good.
And it cools the water it uses to make the iced tea.

And thanks everyone. i'm feeling much better now thanks to you guys. :ok

And I'd like to add that I agree that oldr's decenecy is a worthy attribuite.

Indeed.

Well here it's 68 with a light breeze, as soon as Tati gets off from school we're headed to the beach...

And then probably to our favorite pizza place...

ETA:

Correction, it's now officially up to 70 degrees...

This is quite a change after some of the bitterly cold weather we've been experiencing...

Hell, there have been days when it barely got above 50.....(I actually slipped and almost landed on my ass on a patch of ice early one morning when I was putting out the trash and recycling cans...ice...in San Francisco... :o )

Another inch or snow over the weekend (Sunday morning) But I got the roof of the shed back up and a bunch of 2x4's are holding the thing up. A big thanks to an AA buddy (who also is a carpenter) for his help. Only damage was the mirror on my motorcycle which got bent a bit but not broken. I bent it back into shape but I have to wait until I ride to see if it's really ok. The sons bike, my tractor and the generator were totally fine. So total loss is the mirror (maybe) and the shed itself. Less than the $1000 deductable my homeowners has. I plan on building a new shed in the spring. Stick built, no more prefab tin sheds for me. IT will cost more, but will last much longer.

ETA
And thanks everyone for your kind words. Means a lot when one is "out of sorts".
Thanks again.
