Pirate Party

Post by Gob »

Tomorrow night Hatch celebrates her 18 th. birthday*, at a shared party with her mate who is also 18. They've hired the "Pirate Party Boat" for the night.

Image

Hen and Hatch are currently getting ship's provisions cooked and sorted, and a fair amount of grog is part of the booty.

There will be kareoke and other such entertainments. We're hoping it's all that she wants and wil be a great memory for many years to come.

*We had a quiet family celebration at Rubicon the other night.

I will wear my jacket with the parrot on the shoulder for the bash.

(Well, it isnt really a parrot. It's a chicken.)

(If truth be told, it's a rooster.)
Bah!

Great night great fun, but odd.

Remember this was a joint 18th birthday party for two girls, 40 spotty adolescents on a boat with a free bar.

No one got hammered and passed out/threw up. There were no major split ups, no fights, most remained sober. Definitely no evidence of any Persians having been consumed, all over by 10.00 pm.

I'll have the Barramundi, crab and chive potato dumplings, roasted tomato and fennel sauce.

Thanks

No examples of fervent groping/tongue hockey spotted.

Most interestingly for me, stacks of the beers and wine, we had bought in, left over.

All for me now! :D

As a side note, a friend of mine that I've not been able to convince to try Vegemite was at a doctor appointment today. The conversation somehow got around to me trying to convince her to taste Vegemite and she asked the doctor if he had ever tried it.

He went out of the room and came back with this...

He said that a friend of his had visited him from Australia and had given it to him. He gave it to her to give to me because he was afraid to taste it.

I ate it a little while ago.

Nice snack... :D

Happy birthday Hatch!

I'd think seriously about making a meal from the cheeses, a little fruit and bread, and of course some good red wine.

My, yes, that is strange.... :?

(Especially since the bar was already covered and they didn't need you there in case they ran short of funds....)

Hmmm... :? :? :?

I see two possibilities....

Either they were just being polite and never dreamed you'd actually take them up on it....

Or perhaps they viewed you as part of the "entertainment".....

Did you wear your kilt? :D

Oz is indeed a parallel universe.

After they're 16 they won't be caught dead with either mom or dad around their friends.

That picture made me laugh...the girl in the magenta dress (with everyone else in black or gray) makes me think of the old "one of these things is not like the rest" game. :D

Seriously: was the dress code "dress like you're a black & white photo" and she didn't get that memo?
