You Sad Pathetic Man...

Post by Lord Jim »

See where you've brought us to...

Our ideals die around us, all because of you...

Image

And now the saddest cut of all, someone has to turn you in...

Like a common criminal...

Like a wounded animal...

Jaded Mandarin! A jaded Mandarin...

You're a faded jaded, faded, jaded faded Mandarin...

"Get out they're waiting...

"They're waiting for you...."

Just like some Christians have this bizarre infatuation with presenting images of Jesus straight out of the Aryan breeding manual. :)

It is called Good Friday becuase Jesus WILLINGLY went to the cross to die for out sins.

Your collective inability to acknowledge this obvious truth makes you all look like fools.

Agreed.

After all, Jesus was from Semetic stock (on His mum's side) so making Him out to be Nordic European is rather silly.

The idea behind the term, "Good Friday" as I understand it, is that since this was the day Christ died for our sins...

Therefore, it was a "good" day for us...

For Him...

Maybe not so much... :?

I'm sure He's had better...

I have a number of Atheist friends, who consider my Christianity, a "character flaw" of some sort...

Friends who say, "Gee, you seem like such an intelligent man, how can you possibly buy into this sort of Fairy tale?"

The answer is quite simple....

It's not about "logical analysis"....

It's about "the leap of Faith"...it's about transcending material logic, and having a "sense" of something else going on...

Or not... 8-)

If there is nothing beyond what we have on this mortal coil, then we might as well all do the Jim Jones number and suck down the Kool Aid..

I, for one, would never want to live in a world where there was nothing beyond simple "80 years and out" mundane existence...

I absolutely refuse to embrace the depressing and despair ridden view that after you die, you " take a dirt nap for all eternity" and "all you get is non-existence"....

If I were ever to become convinced that was really the way of things, I would become so despondent, that I wouldn't be able to get out of bed in the morning...

If I were ever persuaded of that view, I would become completely dysfunctional....I would curl up naked in a fetal position, and moan mournfully...

Fortunately, there is no danger of that ever happening.... 8-)

and form that sprung the modern visual identification of Jesus. it may be (read most likely is) wrong but it has developed into artistic shorthand for the figure.

In essence what you are complaining about is an abstract representation than any notion of what Jesus actually looked like.

(BTW as we are critiquing artistic representations I doubt that anyone who lived a lifestyle like Jesus led would look that "well fed")

The long haired images were done under the misbegotten notion that Jesus was a Nazarite like his cousin John...

If there ever was a depressing thought, it is the notion that nothing that anyone has achieved throughout their life - not their work, not their friendships, not even their children - are seen as being of any value without the existence of an afterlife. If that is what someone really believes, then why not shoot themselves in the head and bypass this utterly pointless part of their existence and get right to the main event?

How about seeing value in the difference we are able to make on this earth while we are here? How about seeing ourselves live on through the lives of our children whom we have helped shaped, through the kind words and deeds that have made a difference in someone's life, through whatever we have accomplished that has left this world better than when we came into it?

Perhaps rather than trying to find meaning for our existence in an afterlife, we create meaning in our lives in the here and now.

Maybe it's the number of times that I came close to losing my life before feeling that I had had the chance to live it, that has somehow warped my perception. Or maybe it was that experience that taught me to focus on what really mattered and what I had the ability to do something about. And if whether I believe in an afterlife or not would make a difference in the way I am living my life in the here and now, then there is something wrong with me.

You cannot prove that Jesus did not have blond hair and blue eyes. Blond/blue is a genetic mutation that appeared about 4k years ago. It can appear at any time in any race or ethnicity.

Just call me mutant and proud of it.

And don't forget Ol' Black Christ:

A totally white Jesus is so ridiculously stupid yet it has become somewhat an article of faith to Western Civilization catholics. Christ... our Aryan savior.

Heil Jesus.
