I can still remember when she started getting those bumps in her t-shirt on the Mickey Mouse Club, a life changing moment for me. RIP Annette.

Not to be nit picking but should it not be "Annette Funicello Dead"? Everyone dies but not everyone is dead. Oh OK it is nit-picking.
At 62, the age of 70 seems a lot younger than it used to. Mickey Mouse Club and those awful beach movies were a U.S. phenomenon that I believe (hope) had no effect whatever on the civilized world (rather like the Three Stooges and Jerry Lewis), but I suppose they must be iconic in the USA. She was brave in the face of adversity.
