But as I quit my job the other week I've not listened to either, and this week I've been kissing frogs in the purple rain.

I think this deserves a thread of its own. Spill the goods woman.

I might have mentioned that hubby got a new job last year. It involves him travelling round the world on a global IT roll-out for PZ Cussons. So far this year he's been to Indonesia four times and Thailand twice, so I'm not getting to spend huge amounts of time with him.

Anyway the upside of this is his remuneration package is very good indeed, it's much more than both our old salaries combined.

So after 20 odd years of working for other people, I have decided to concentrate on two things - One of which is freelance IT consulting and project management. The other is finishing my degree in canine behaviour, the freelance IT work gives me the time to do that as I can be choosy with which contracts I take, also I can take more time out when hubby is home without some asshole tying me down to 20 days holiday a year.

But a lot of the contracts wanted a PRINCE2 (PRojects In Controlled Environments) qualification. Last week I boot-camped the foundation and practitioner qualifications. Hence gob's jokes about kissing frogs in the purple rain

Thought if I didn't do this now I never would, and twenty more years of selling to other people really left me cold.

That usually means they are bored and are trying to find new ways to amuse themselves.

And Gob, I haven't forgotten about the woodburning picture of the rascals. just have not had much time between outdoor work (now that the weather is nice) and going to my AA meetings (just about every night) and taking care of the "honey do" list (major priority). I'll get around to it sooner or later.

Vicks Vaporub, the smell and taste should put them off but it's not harmful to the little darlings. Chewing is a trial and error thing if the vicks doesn't do the trick you could try if you can get it over there a product called "bitter beak" it's a bird product really but its stronger in taste than a lot of the canine anti chew sprays which didn't do a thing to stop Basil when he went on a wanton trail of destruction when he was 12 months old - Cookie's glasses, the sky remote, one of the telephone handsets all in a day. in a state of desperation I got the bitter beak that we'd bought to stop the Cocky from eating the wallpaper out and sprayed everything in his reach... he never gnawed another thing.

We used vaporub for Ralf from the start, he only ever chewed a tiny bit of carpet and nothing else.

Other than that, there's distraction tactics, have you got one of these?

Before you say it yes it does look a bit rude...

You can fill it with treats (or sneakily in my case logic dental paste) to keep them occupied for a while. And the perennial favourite Nylabone, though they don't always take to those.
