When people have paid time off they do stuff. When they do stuff they spend money. When they spend money it contributes to GDP ergo ... time to have a national standard for paid leave. A good way to stimulate employment too.

Unionized construction workers long ago traded vacation entitlement for higher hourly wages.
Should this be allowed? Should their rates be reduced by 80/2080 so that they can have two weeks paid vacation? And what about the fact that they are working out of a "hall" and might be working for ten different companies in a year's time? Who has to give them the PTO?
Do teachers get paid vacations? They have to be there when school is in session, but technically if they stay home when the institution is closed, is that vacation?
