Televison lighting (way too much fill light which was very common at the time for TV.)

Your collective inability to acknowledge this obvious truth makes you all look like fools.

I think that was an intentional effect (notice the middle is in focus)
Okay... There's all kinds of things wrong with what you just said.

Yes, but look at the entire image how washed out it is.....there is no depth or texture.

The "cheesecloth" filter give that out-of-focus look on the edges, again a very 1950-1960 TV look.

I have a degree in Radio-TV-Film Production you're going to have to trust me on this.........REALLY

Turned on, eh rube?

Too bad you were too young to really experience what those times were like.

Wasn't everything kind of fuzzy back in the 60's? I know I was, toward the latter end.....
For Christianity, by identifying truth with faith, must teach-and, properly understood, does teach-that any interference with the truth is immoral. A Christian with faith has nothing to fear from the facts

I always thought they did the "gauze" thing to make "older" stars look younger. Smooth out the wrinkles a bit.

These days it's a low-set fresnel known in the business as a KTOL* light.

*Kind To Old Ladies
Why is it that when Miley Cyrus gets naked and licks a hammer it's 'art' and 'edgy' but when I do it I'm 'drunk' and 'banned from the hardware store'?
