You seem to seriously lack compassion is the point.

Incidentally, when I responded with "genetics", the above is not what was written and was not what I responded to. Really really bad form to go back and edit after someone responds to you.

Granted, however I wasn't aware that you would post so soon, before I edited mine. I did reply to your follow up post in kind.

My statement stands that your argument is a strawman.
My point was that the inexperienced are more at risk of making mistakes.
You will find more untrained or poorly trained personnel in free or non-profit medical hospitals and clinics; particularly in the field of OB/GYN. My experience of years of Naval gynecology, and the testimony of multiple female co-sailors, compared to civilian doctors and insured GYN medical practice, has formed my opinion on that.

Just so you understand, I won't be debating or discussing anything with anyone who changes their posts after the fact.

You know Loca, the more I think about this the more it pisses me off. Changing your post so that mine that follows totally loses it's meaning in the context then calling me racist, because you can, because after all what better defense if you can't sustain an actual argument, you can pull your weak, sad little race card.

Now you can really call me racist: I am done with you if this is an example of your Hispanic sense of values.

Actually no RR, it doesn't make any sense under those circumstances. You don't mix solutions for injectables in that manner. It is all closed.
As it was back in the 1960s ... I can recall my dad adding diluent to injectable antibiotic and inverting it until it was dissolved back in 1966. Both bottles were sealed with a septum and a syringe was used to draw up the liquid in one bottle and inject it into the other one. Both bottles were clearly labeled throughout. If it was difficult to dissolve it would have been easier to put a sealed bottle on a shaker table or bottle roller than it would to mix it in a bowl; that sounds a little 3rd-world-ish.

LO--

that's a pretty broad statement; most of the best hospitals in the US, including those affiliated with major universities, are non profits and have some of the best trained and skilled physicians and surgeons in the US. Even people who pay out of their pockets will go there for the treatments their skilled staff offers.

Rubato--I am not arguing that using dishes is an appropriate way to mix an injectable, even a hard to dissolve one, and I have never seen it used, bu assuming the people are at least minimally competent, I am trying to think why it might be used. I do recall, however, mixing injectable fertility drugs (when my wife and I were trying that route) in open sealed ampoules without a septum (the glass top was snapped off, apparently after the luperon was lyophizied the ampoule was sealed by heating the tube at the vacuum end to form the seal and the neck was scored to facilitate snapping it off), so not all mixing is done in sealed bottles. Fully sterile, and the dissolved drug could be withdrawn from the ampoule and injected, but still an open system.

@w, if it was relevent to the topic, I'd care what you thought about me.

BigRR, I was seeking a reason this specific hospital might use this procedure, and the most probable was that since this was a teaching hospital; and since the regular anesthesiologist did not administer the medication; that a student or someone unqualified did.

If the anaesthetic/antiseptic mixup made people sick, let's see how folks feel about this. Arresting the guy for breaking a teacup was draconian, but rather pales in comparison to the disgusting way in which he probably got infected with HIV:
Henan was hugely affected by an AIDS scandal in the 1990s that saw entire villages devastated by the condition.

Many people were infected after repeatedly selling their blood to collection stations that pooled it into a tub and then injected it back into them after extracting the plasma.

[off topic] I'd missed most of this thread up to now... specifically the Loca editing bit. Is this your new forum MO Loca? That's @W and myself you've done it to now... [/off topic]
Why is it that when Miley Cyrus gets naked and licks a hammer it's 'art' and 'edgy' but when I do it I'm 'drunk' and 'banned from the hardware store'?

Nope, I've stated I go back and edit constantly; it's not a personal issue, until someone makes it one due to timing and misunderstanding.

Note: Check the tags, I went back and re-posted my original comments weeks ago.

Loca I don't really know you from a bar of soap but FFS girl from what i have read you need to grow some balls and admit when you are wrong! Not try and rewrite history!

Its plain to see from this thread and the terrorism thread that you are making yourself look like a cunt and are fooling nobody...only mebbe yourself!

What you have done to @W and Sean is despicable. Many other forums I post on...your editing skills (!!!!???WTF) would have had you out a long time ago.

I am not debating this with you i just wanted you to realise the 2 on the recieving ends arn't the only people that notice these things!

Hello SMF?

As per requested, I changed my post here back to it's original weeks ago.

I admit, I'm wrong fairly often, by using the term 'granted'; if I'm forgetful, I admit that too. However they are not the same thing.

Brow-beating isn't going to improve my memory unfortunately; although inevitably in my circle of friends, they are going to try it.

IRL the exchange usually goes like this;

Friend: 'Hey, remember when so-and-so did such-and-such? Wasn't that a laff!?'

Loca: 'Uh, no I don't.'

Friend: 'What? It was hilarious!'

Loca: 'I don't remember.'

Friend: '...but you were there, how can you say that!?'

Loca: 'I'm not saying it didn't happen, I'm saying I don't remember it.'

SMF, you and Sean weren't as frequent on the CSB, but I've openly admitted my memory loss problems many times for years, there. The sum total of my issues, I admit to every post because it is my moniker- Loca = crazy female. I don't know if it was the pot (which is why I don't smoke it now, nor recommend it to people); the Alzheimer's in my family; or the high stress levels which are documented to affect the short-term memory. All I know is, 'I forget things' ...and with age it's getting worse. I beg your pardon if that inconveniences you somehow.

How very Steve of you. No one, and certainly not me, asked you to change your post back to the original.
You have now managed to make an egregious situation worse. Congratulations.

I will make this so simple even your brain with issues will absorb it. Don't change your posts after folks have responded to them. It's bad form and makes you look clueless or underhanded. Adding lies to it is not going to make you appear any less underhanded. Now if you don't think you can adhere to that request due to whatever brain damage you claim to have, I strongly suggest that you stop posting until you can see a neurologist.

My bad. I went to the other thread, which I had not read, sure enough they said change it back. I however, never suggested you change anything back.

After reading the other thread I now realize that you cannot be trusted at all in a debate.

One thread of cross-posting, and willingness to change the post, but can't remember it; in ten years of posting. Which leads you to act as you always have... meh.
