Former Wales utility back Henson, who has joined Bath from London Welsh, was out with some of his new team mates in the Pig and Fiddle pub in Bath on Wednesday evening when he was allegedly knocked out by an individual believed to be former England Saxons flanker Fearns.
Footage of the incident, which was captured on a mobile phone, appears to show Henson arguing with Fearns who is held back by fellow back-row forward Guy Mercer. Fearns then leans over and lands a right hook to Henson’s face.
“Henson went out like a light for about five minutes. He just lay there like a lump, right on the floor,” an eyewitness told the Bath Chronicle.
Bath declined to comment on the possible identity of Henson's assailant but issued a statement confirming that members of their squad were involved in the incident.

Yeah funny how the media are reporting that its Henson's fault when he doesn't throw a punch and the longer version of the video shows Fearns being manhandled away mouthing something whilst Gavin isnt even in the shot at first. Every report I've read says Gavin didn't throw a punch at all - a lot of the stuff I've read is quite gleeful that Gav got laid out as he had been "swanning around" before it kicked off. Trouble is that "swanning around" as far as I know doesn't give anyone the right to assault you - frankly Fearns is lucky Henson hasn't pressed charges, it remains to be seen what action (if any) Bath take and against who. As for Fearns even if Henson had been winding him up he's shown that a bit of sledging is going to upset him - poor dab, how is he going to cope during a game?

Sale Sharks duo Anitelea Tuilagi and Carl Fearns will not face charges despite the pair being arrested after a nightclub brawl that left four bouncers needing hospital treatment.
The pair were held on suspicion of affray, along with two other men, when violence erupted at the Missoula Bar at Deansgate Locks in Manchester city centre.
Just been checking the Bath RFC forum apparently Fearns has a bit of a temper when he's pissed up, word from the club grapevine is that Gav had settled in well and is very popular amongst the squad as he was at London Welsh.
The media are always trying to big up the story when Henson is involved - whilst he was at Welsh last season the Daily Nazi published a story complete with photos saying he was refused entry to an after-show party following a Girls Aloud concert & instead posed for photos with adoring fans outside the venue. Trouble was that his 'adoring fans' were his teammates, and the 'truth' was that he had been at the party but had come outside to try to get the guys admitted. It was when the doormen told Gav that he couldn't bring in half a dozen guests - most of whom were bigger than the doormen - that he was snapped allegedly being turned away for being drunk.
Lyn Jones thinks the world of Gavin - and that should carry a LOT of weight in Gav's favour.
