For that moment they are "happier". I don't think that makes them "better off". They are still who "they are" and still have "their life".

I was reading an article the other day about the "hook-up" phenomenon on campuses. It seems that the frequent outcome is the girl giving a BJ then going back to her dorm room. It never happens the other way around. The motivations are not the same.
