So much film making today is so derivative....

It's nice to see somebody come up with a fresh and original concept....

Have you seen Sharktopus Gob?
Why is it that when Miley Cyrus gets naked and licks a hammer it's 'art' and 'edgy' but when I do it I'm 'drunk' and 'banned from the hardware store'?

Sharknado, the low-budget "mockbuster" movie about a tornado which sucks sharks out of the ocean and splashes them onto the streets of Los Angeles, is to get a sequel.

It was inevitable in some respects: Sharknado, a cheap as chips TV movie shot for only $US1.5 million, has generated more media noise in the space of a week than the entire US summer blockbuster movie slate.

Sharknado 2 will be more fun, more outrageous, it’s going to be better than ever ... but honestly we have no idea what it’ll be aside from bigger, better, faster, stronger and more outrageous than the first. It has to be!

The cable channel SyFy, which produced the film, has confirmed Sharknado 2 is coming in 2014. It will be set in New York City.

Ian Ziering, second left, and Cassie Scerbo battle a shark in the Syfy original film Sharknado.

"Every once in a while, there is a perfect storm on television," SyFy's programming boss Thomas Vitale said.

"The fans are clamouring for a sequel. Or perhaps it will be a prequel. What we can guarantee is that Sharknado 2 will be lots of fun."

The channel is asking fans of the film to christen the sequel with a subtitle. Suggestions should be tweeted to the @SyFyMovies account using the #Sharknado hashtag.

"We'll be announcing more details very soon," Vitale said.

Sharknado, a ‘‘mockbuster’’ horror film about a tornado sweeping up man-eating sharks and dumping them on Los Angeles stars Beverly Hills 90210 actor turned Chippendales dancer Ian Ziering.

I read a review and that pretty much described it exactly as I thought it would be.
Okay... There's all kinds of things wrong with what you just said.

A dead shark has been discovered on the subway in New York City, transport officials have confirmed.

The unlikely passenger, about 1.2m (4ft) long, was found under a row of seats on a Queens-bound train.

The conductor asked passengers to leave the carriage and the train continued to the end of the line, where a supervisor disposed of the fish.

Pigeons and even an opossum have made their way on to the trains before, but never a shark, transit officials said.

However, where it came from remains a mystery.

Isvett Verde, of Brooklyn, New York, who took a photo of the shark, said she noticed that the empty carriage of the N train "smelled extremely fishy" when she boarded at 8th Street.

"It's hard to be surprised as there are always crazy things happening in this city, but even that was a bit much," she told the BBC.

Other pictures of the exotic discovery have also gone viral, including one of the shark with a cigarette in its mouth next to a fare card and a can of energy drink.
