This photograph was one of a series of publicity shots for an intended film which never saw the light of day. It was not until 1989 that a film of the 1963 happenings was released under the title Scandal. The photographic session took place in my studio, which at that time was on the first floor of the 'Establishment', a satirical night club, part-owned by Peter Cook of 'Beyond The Fringe' fame. The satirical sketches took place on a small stage on the ground floor of the club. The Dudley Moore Trio played Jazz in the basement.
Dressed in a shapeless top and sandals and pulling a plastic shopping trolley, it is difficult to imagine that this woman was once one of the world’s most photographed – and infamous – beauties.
But the pensioner pictured here is Christine Keeler. Her sexual liaisons 50 years ago with Tory Minister John Profumo and a Russian military attache based in London led to one of the biggest political scandals of modern times.
This is the first time Keeler has been photographed in public for seven years, and the 71-year-old is unrecognisable from the fresh-faced model and showgirl who found herself embroiled in Profumo affair in 1963.
Keeler, the years have not been kind....
Keeler, the years have not been kind....
“If you trust in yourself, and believe in your dreams, and follow your star. . . you'll still get beaten by people who spent their time working hard and learning things and weren't so lazy.”
Re: Keeler, the years have not been kind....
Well for the love of God she is 71. Why are people so dense they expect others to not age?
Re: Keeler, the years have not been kind....
It is possible to be 71 and still take some pride in your appearance. Being old is no excuse for being a slob.
Re: Keeler, the years have not been kind....
Dave--her clothes appear to be clean and, although not ironed, are of a type that would not be ironed. she appears to be fairly well groomed--no makeup, but trim nails, legs cleanly shaven hair pulled back and held in place. All I can see is that she aged and gained some weight; neither of those makes her a "slob" to me; indeed, we don't know the state of her health, so who knows why she looks the way she does. As far as I can see, she is doing the best with what she has.

I thought this thread was about Garrison
Okay... There's all kinds of things wrong with what you just said.
Re: Keeler, the years have not been kind....
I thought it was Helen and she couldn't read her name was spelled wrong.
Re: Keeler, the years have not been kind....
In the 1989 film about the Profumo affair titled Scandal, actress Bridget Fonda portrayed Rice-Davies, alongside Joanne Whalley as Christine Keeler.

Re: Keeler, the years have not been kind....
The years haven't been all that generous with Dudley Moore either; being dead and all.
