When I worked in the beer distributor, a guy came back from either N. or S. Carolina with moonshine. Don't remember the proof but it was like drinking turpentine.
I think it evaporated before it hit my stomach.

*Cough cough* Everclear *cough.*
Ahh yes, I'd forgotten about grain...

Grain punch was quite popular at parties in college...

Never tried it myself of course... :?

Everclear was a staple at parties when I was in music school. You could always count on the low brass to bring it.

Working in the chemistry and biochem labs, we used to use the absolute ethanol for parties. 100% ethanol (certified and sold with a tax stamp). Made a wicked punch.

Someone spiked my senior prom punch with Everclear.

No, I did NOT drink said punch!

Just come on down to the good ole USA -- you should find *lots* of high alcohol liquor in upstate NY, especially now that winter is coming!

I may have burned a few brain cells on Red Death (everclear and red koolaid) or Purple Death (same formula) at a frat party or two when I was in college. But then again, I may not have.

I can't really remember . . . .

I love this thread. :ok
Personally, I don’t believe in bros before hoes, or hoes before bros. There needs to be a balance. A homie-hoe-stasis, if you will.

I only had Everclear one time. I bought it in Nevada because they don't sell anything with that much alcohol in California.

I remember my first drink of it. It was mixed with a tall glass of orange juice.

That may be all I drank. I don't remember anything after that.

I think they should change its name to 'Neverclear'.

You can get that now...heck, Junior Johnson sells it (legally, this time!). Supposedly, it is the exact same stuff he went to prison for running. :D

The world’s strongest beer at 65%. Ingredients include crystal malt, wheat, flaked oats and of course 100% Scottish spring water. We then freeze ferment the beer to bring up the ABV. Consume this like a fine whisky. Despite being 65%, the beer has a lot of flavour - malty, hoppy, slightly sweet and lots of yeast still in the beer. Be careful though, smelling it is probably enough to put you over the limit!
At some point I've got to think it would be easier, cheaper, and more satisfying to just buy a pint of some really good craft brew and a pint of Everclear and mix them....

Sue U :ok

At the wedding on saturday I was slightly amazed that one of my daughters friends was drinking guiness. Not often ladies drink guiness and ever rarer a 24yo.

My wife used to hate porters and stouts until I showed her how to drink them. Now they're her favorites.

she couldn't get past the initial bitterness so she would immediately chase each sip with water thus making every subsequent sip just as bitter.
