Personally I'm going to be very surprised if they manage to get a fourth Sherlock 3 episode mini-series put together...

Now that both of the principals have real careers making real money, why would they want to take time out to come back to work for the relative chump change the BBC pays?

Prestige, pride, the love of a good role?

Patrick Stewart once said he did Star Trek so he had the finances to be able to do the roles he really loved.

You mean like doing voice overs for National Car Rental? ...

Yes, I can see that...

Every time I hear him say, "You can even take a full-size or above, and, still pay the mid-size price"...

It's as stirring as listening to the soliloquy from Henry V... 8-)

I saw Alec Guiness in an interview once remark about the fact that he had made far more money from Star Wars than from his entire prior film and theater career combined, and he talked about how whenever he met with friends for social occasions he always insisted on picking up the tab, "Please let me get it; I've got way more money from that Star Wars thing then I could ever possibly spend"...

(He was only paid 150K in cash for playing Obi-Wan Kenobi, but he got 2% of the profits...the heirs to his estate continue to rake in millions...)

Patrick Stewart? Yup. I saw him in Central Park as Prospero in Tempest -- my very favorite of the bard's plays, and a perfect role for PS.

I'd just like to get the 3rd installment of the series on the air here in the US, please and thank you!
