Favorite Guitarist to Watch...
Favorite Guitarist to Watch...
Just off the top of my musical head, I've enjoyed watching Pete Townshend play the guitar from the Who days until present.
Eric Clapton is an excellent guitarist but is boring to watch.
I don't know any relatively new guitarists that are exciting to watch. I'm sure there are many.
Do you have a favorite guitarist that you like to see on stage?

Tommy Emmanuel. He puts everything he's got into his performance. You can tell when he's going to ad-lib something new into a piece as he gets a little glint in his eye as he thinks of it and then a beaming smile as he (inevitably) pulls it off to perfection. That is, if you can drag your eyes away from his fingers long enough to see his face. The guy obviously loves what he does and it makes it all the more pleasurable to watch him play.
Why is it that when Miley Cyrus gets naked and licks a hammer it's 'art' and 'edgy' but when I do it I'm 'drunk' and 'banned from the hardware store'?

For Christianity, by identifying truth with faith, must teach-and, properly understood, does teach-that any interference with the truth is immoral. A Christian with faith has nothing to fear from the facts

Was that photo taken at a "Come As Your Favorite Blues Brother" party?

I see SueU is in to that mellow easy listening sort of music. It reflects her laid back middle of the road persona.

Junior Brown, I don't listen to much of his stuff but that which I do is pretty interesting, again not all that animated
Charo is an excellent Flamenco player, while she's playing she herself is not animated but she is accompanied by a background stage
Joe Satriani is a bit more animated, still nothing like Pete

For sheer guitar showmanship and terror, I always thought the late great Bryan Gregory was the best. Unfortunately, there is shockingly little footage I could find of him on the Youtubes. If you never saw him live, you'll just have to take my word for it.
GAH!

Re: Favorite Guitarist to Watch...
I was always a big Pete Townsend fan as a guitarist, songwriter and overall muscian.
Way back I think it was his first solo album, Who Came First ? where he played all the instruments except drums. Keith Moon played those. IIRC PT put after the Keith Moon byline "Who else?"
I always though Carlos Santanna was a good guitarist.
