Gee, it's been six days since we've heard from Strop...

When he first started his vacation, it seems like he was posting every few hours...

He must finally be having a good time... 8-)

Either that or he's gotten himself banged up in some backwater Welsh nick... :?

On behalf of Devonites, it ain't Wales. Might as well be, but it isn't.

I am back from Florida - exhausted - but back lol

Had a wonderful time - pissed off that the shutdown didnt get resolved while we were there so we missed the Saturn V and the VAB at Kennedy but it was still an amazing day and I did cry when I saw Atlantis for the first time.

Loved Busch Gardens, Sea World, Kennedy & Miami. Hated Epcot one ginormous rip off which is tired and dated.

Fed and stroked Giraffes, Dolphins & Alligators.

Shopped until we dropped in Florida Mall (gotta love the JC Penny sales) ate Crab in South Bay and again at Joes Crab Shack complete with dancing waiters, didnt do any "fine dining" more than happy with the buffets in Cici's & Panda Express etc.

Saw a lot of "colourful" sights in every sense of the word at South Beach  walked on Miami Beach but preferred the buzz at Bayside Market including the live Samba Band. Rode an Airboat in the Everglades and got covered in horrid swarms of flies *ick* took a boat ride around the Bay in Miami and saw how the other half live on Star Island & Fisher Island.

Back held up fine but feet, ankles and legs ballooned to 3x their normal size complete with spectacular red rash which I assumed was the heat & humidity but turned out to be a side effect of my blood pressure meds  didnt let it stop me though and walked and walked and walked some more every day along with 2 hours in the pool most days.

Loved every min of the holiday and wish we had had longer.

Did you swim with the dolphins? They are frisky buggers. The giraffes are all about what you are going to feed them. Glad you had a good time!

Sounds like you did everything there is to do in South Florida, RB. You can cross that off your list.

Our last day here on Fuerteventura too, spending the day mooching around a resort nearer to the airport since we had to vacate the villa by 10am and our flight isn't until 9pm.

Can't even have a beer as we have a hire car, well actually hubby can't as he's the only one who can drive because they won't accept my ancient paper photoless license.

Sounds like you had a great time in Florida RB we are going there about this time next year for the sister in laws 40th. Looking forward to it immensely, we've booked a five bedroom villa with a pool for the whole lot of us.

Swimming with dolphins is a great experience...(we did that on a cruise we took a few years ago...)

Swimming with alligators, not so much... 8-)
I did cry when I saw Atlantis for the first time.
We haven't really had a proper vacation since the lad was born, (I don't believe in taking toddlers on long plane flights) but next year I think he may be up for it, (we're going to do a test run on a short flight to Vegas in the spring) so we're planning to do a week in Northern Virginia to visit my relatives and do a little DC site seeing, and then a week at the Atlantis in the Bahamas...(Kelly and Tati have really wanted to hit that, and I have to admit it does look like a good time)

We've stayed at the Atlantis in Reno a few times, but it's just not the same... 8-)

Rogan josh (or roghan josh) is an aromatic lamb dish of Persian origin, which is one of the signature recipes of Kashmiri cuisine.
Sounds yummy... :ok

Pissing down with rain today, a day of tea and toast and a good book in front of the log fire on offer, bliss!

Had a meal at the Elephants Nest last night, bloody wonderful. Yesterday afternoon was spent watching a rehearsal of "Noye's fludde" at Exter cathedral, sublime.
