Well now that we've had the final episode of Miracle Day, a few thoughts...
Bill Pullman was
superb as Oswald Dane, the creepy psycho child molester killer...(which was a very different kind of role for him; he normally plays Eagle Scout-type good guys; like President Whitmore in
Independence Day )
But while the series had it's moments, thematically it really didn't hold together all that well...(It was definitely not as good as
Children Of Earth...the connection between "the families and "the blessing" were never made that effectively, and the ending was really rushed.. I got the impression that after building the plot fairly slowly for nine episodes, the director suddenly said, "hey we're about to run out of budget here; we've got to wrap this up"...
So now Torchwood is Jack, Gwen, and a
second immortal, Rex? Really? And the next series is supposed to focus again around "The Families" and their "Plan B"... (

) with the totally amoral but admittedly hot, Jilli (Lauren Ambrose) Kissinger...
I really think they're painting themselves into a thematic corner here, and that if they want to continue the series, some sort of time-line re-boot along the lines Daze suggested (that would restore The Hub) would be a better way to go...
