Don't rush.

Education would make your opinions more interesting.

Malice is small, mean, and nasty. And you have nothing else so far.

A debate well worth watching, whatever opinions one has.

Why have you never learned how to embed youtube clips then?

In other words; you don't have clue how to do it.

Try educating yourself.,

What good will it do him if he has a fool for a teacher?

ETA:

That having been said, the idea of those two in a debate does sound like it could be worthwhile viewing, so I have book marked it for when I have more time.

James Baldwin is very impressive. Buckley seemed confused and mentally disorganised by comparison. He made some mean little comments about Baldwin's accent (as if he of all people is in a position to call someone else's accent affected), just his way of being nasty, and then said that basically the problem for "the American Negro" was a lack of hard work and ambition. Garry Wills (mentioned elsewhere) was once a protege of Buckley but broke with him over Buckley's racism.

I heard Baldwin speak at UCSC in the middle 80s. I think he read some recent poems. In my memory it was not as memorable as this is.

I'm sorry you're having a problem with it. I just click on the link and it plays just fine. Maybe someone can help you with it?

Interesting tidbit: English was not William Buckley's first language; it was his third, after Spanish and then French.
People who are wrong are just as sure they're right as people who are right. The only difference is, they're wrong.

I clicked the link under "This one works better," and it played perfectly well.

Strictly on debaters' points -- and I used to work for a University judging debates -- I would give the win, by a narrow margin, to Buckley.
