I am surprised that MSNBC would do this:
Martin Bashir has resigned from MSNBC, nearly three weeks after delivering a scathing personal attack on Sarah Palin that brought him widespread condemnation.
Bashir had already apologized for what he called "offensive" comments about the former Alaska governor, whom he also called an "idiot" and "dunce." He told viewers in a scripted commentary last month that someone should defecate in Palin's mouth. He was invoking an old slave punishment in response to a speech by Palin, a Fox News contributor, comparing the national debt to slavery.
The afternoon talk show host, a former co-anchor of "Nightline," says he decided to leave the network after meeting with MSNBC President Phil Griffin.

Martin Bashir has resigned from MSNBC
Soon, I’ll post my farewell message. The end is starting to get close. There are many misconceptions about me, and before I go, to live with my ancestors on the steppes, I want to set the record straight.
Re: Martin Bashir has resigned from MSNBC
Why is it a surprise?

He should have stayed in the UK, he was making a name for himself there.
“If you trust in yourself, and believe in your dreams, and follow your star. . . you'll still get beaten by people who spent their time working hard and learning things and weren't so lazy.”

I get the impression that in the world of MSNBC Palin is the devil deserving of no respect or consideration. In other words, she is part of the enemy camp; she is the enemy.

Re: Martin Bashir has resigned from MSNBC
Lib, the management at MSNBC (which is actually the management of NBC) has been pretty good about disciplining it's snarling dogs when they go to far...(If I remember correctly, Crazy Eddie Schultz got two week sabbatical from the station after referring to Laura Ingram as a "right-wing slut" . And that wasn't even said on his TV show; he said it on his radio program)
However I was surprised (pleasantly) at the news he'd been forced out, since it appeared he wasn't even going to draw a suspension for what were clearly over the line comments...(I refer to the defecate in her mouth remark)
Of all the lefty carnival barkers on MSNBC, Bashir was by far the nastiest. A sneering, condescending, pustule of a man. He was also intellectually dishonest, and his show consisted mainly of him interacting with shill guests who's job it was to say, "that's absolutely right Martin" in response to his rhetorical pseudo-questions.
He made Keith Olbermann look like a class act...
MSNBC has some show hosts who I disagree with, but who I have to admit at least bring some wit and/or intellectual skills to the table...(like Rachel Maddow, Chris Hayes, Steve Kornacki)
Martin Bashir wasn't one of them....
I imagine they'll find some new junkyard dog to replace him...

In reference to what Palin said: The Bible says that the debtor is slave to the creditor.

Re: Martin Bashir has resigned from MSNBC
As I recall, Palin said something to the effect of comparing debt owed to China to slavery....
A pretty silly comparison, but not something that should give legitimate cause to the host of a supposed current affairs program to suggest on the air that someone should shit in her mouth...

Re: Martin Bashir has resigned from MSNBC
Of course not rube..
All of your "information" comes from RGSOK....
As I've explained before, I have the cable news shows on in the background when I'm working the way a lot of people would have a radio on.
