RB, Daisy, my taste monitors...

Post by Gob »

The Street is a British television drama series created by Jimmy McGovern and produced by Granada Television for the BBC. The series follows the lives of various residents of an unnamed street in Manchester and features an all-star cast including Timothy Spall, Jim Broadbent, Jane Horrocks, Bob Hoskins and David Thewlis.

The Street won both the British Academy Television Award for Best Drama Series and RTS Television Award for Drama Series twice, in 2007 and 2008.[1][2] It also won two International Emmy Awards in November 2007 for Best Drama and Best Actor (Jim Broadbent).[3] The second series was nominated for the Best Drama prize at the 2008 Rose d'Or ceremony. Though it did not win, it received Special Mention from the jury.[4] In November 2010, the third series won the International Emmy Award for Best Drama and Best Actor (Bob Hoskins).
Worth getting?

Never seen it Gob so not sure - looks like its had some good reviews and some good write ups on IMDB its not my "thing" tbh.
If you can keep your head while those around you are losing theirs, you may have misjudged the situation.

What would Ena Sharples do?
For Christianity, by identifying truth with faith, must teach-and, properly understood, does teach-that any interference with the truth is immoral. A Christian with faith has nothing to fear from the facts

You're right Jim... They should've used proper American actors! :nana
Why is it that when Miley Cyrus gets naked and licks a hammer it's 'art' and 'edgy' but when I do it I'm 'drunk' and 'banned from the hardware store'?

Ok, it's available for pennies on Amazon UK, will get a copy.

(Mind you, the mount of pennies I send to Amazon UK, I'd be better off buying a subscription to a UK based TV service.)

Oh and Jim, that's parochialism worthy of rubato.
