Whie our resident expert on all things children, suggests an abortion.

That is simply loathesome as well as an outright set of lies reflecting the exact opposite of all that has been posted here by others. How shameful of you, rubato

:(
For Christianity, by identifying truth with faith, must teach-and, properly understood, does teach-that any interference with the truth is immoral. A Christian with faith has nothing to fear from the facts

That's a good point...

"Shame" is not a concept with which our rube is acquainted; he has no frame of reference for it... (he couldn't possibly and post the things he does.)

You might as well try to explain String Theory to a Wildebeest...

I think these chaps need a cave and a few wooden clubs and rocks and let them thrash it out.

@W, I don't envy your position I would have gone postal on her if I were in your place. I hope it works out and people keep reminding her that it is possible to continue her education after baby arrives.

I'm sorry, but I'm not buying the moral equivalence thing here...

This thread was derailed precisely here:
rubato wrote:Lovely how the conservatives all endorse a choice which they will use as an excuse for doing nothing for the mother and child and further excuse taking away all chance at a chance of a normal life.

"I paid a shitload of money to give my kids all the advantages why should the kid of some whore get into a good college ahead of them?"

yrs,
rubato
It was derailed specifically and solely by rubato, and with him the blame lies; it is his alone...Prior to that post, every single comment was on point.

Any criticism should properly be addressed to him specifically and by name.

Something along the lines of:

"Geez rubato, why did you find it necessary to muck up this thread with your endless political ax grinding? Why did you have to make it about you since you had to know the reaction you would get. Why can't you show more respect for a fellow poster than to do that? " *

would have been appropriate, rather than generalized stuff about caves and rocks and thrashing it out...

I anxiously await the day that somebody, besides the relative handful of us who regularly call this guy on his crap, also calls him on it...

Frankly I think it's a shame that more people don't....

Perhaps if more people did, it might have at least some minimal positive affect on his behavior.

What you don't get Jim, and seem incapable of getting, is that some of us ignore the snide aside hoping against hope that others will ignore it and stick to the topic at hand. But no you and others feel the need to throw gasoline on the fire and further derail the thread with your infantile need to play in poop.

Thanks not at all.

Alas he only mend his behavior when everyone calls him on it. It wasn't until everyone called him on it that he ceased his derision of the middle class
Okay... There's all kinds of things wrong with what you just said.

But isn't it just as easy not to respond to any post you find inflammatory and keep the thread on course rather than derail it to state your outrage? Indeed, if the outrageous posting is done to prompt reactions, wouldn't just ignoring it be the better course of action?

Certainly once in a while anyone can get drawn into one of these BS fests, but IMHO, derailing threads to make this sort of point id counterproductive.

I consider myself fiscally conservative (and lean toward conservative thoughts on other matters also), and if you cared to read my other post I said if it had been in my family, I would gladly sacrifice any fiscal certainty I might have to help mother and daughter so that they could have as normal a life as possible. Of course the mother would have to pick up her share of the load too. No free rides, but a "hand up" so to speak.

Why do feel the need to insinuate @W's niece is a whore?
And college acceptance should be based on merit, nothing more, nothing less (oh and legal residency in this country).
Also, can the kid be born before we make plans for going to college?
Oh wait, you suggested she get an abortion. I guess college (for the kid anyway) is not a problem.

And sorry @W, I just found his post very condescending and felt the need to respond.

The worst thing you can do is feed a troll. Plus it is just damned inconsiderate of one and all to run a thread about family into a political shit fest. Screw all of you, seriously. I will bear this in mind and simply not share like this any more.

Rubato despite his many trolling tendencies is not a troll he is an egotistic true believer who actually believes he is right and the mouthpiece of the righteous masses and everyone who speaks against him is wrong. That is why it's so important for every one to speak up when he's talking out of his ass because he sure as hell isn't going to realize it any other way.
Okay... There's all kinds of things wrong with what you just said.

This thread should serve as notice to someone who starts a thread that not everything is about you.

Topic drift is a natural spinoff once the original topic has been covered.

Couldn't have put it better.

Ignore him and stop giving him the attention he needs. His comment was clearly inflammatory and he got exactly what he wanted from you all reacting.

@W I'm sorry your thread got hijacked. All this cockwaving is extremely tiresome.

And joe this is well beyond topic drift and well into hijack territory, but only because others enabled it.

I'm sorry that the good advice offered by all (esp O-n-W) has got lost due to rubato's shit throwing.
