I mourn the passing.
Re: I mourn the passing.
Oh dear, oh dear, oh dear...On Aug. 6, the very first word of an article in the Winston-Salem (N.C.) Journal was "Alot," which the newspaper employed to estimate the number of Winston-Salemites who would be vacationing that month.
The Lewiston (Maine) Sun-Journal has written of "spading and neutering." The Miami Herald reported on someone who "eeks out a living" -- alas, not by running an amusement-park haunted house. The Fredericksburg Free Lance-Star described professional football as a "doggy dog world." The Vallejo (Calif.) Times-Herald and the South Bend (Ind.) Tribune were the two most recent papers, out of dozens, to report on the treatment of "prostrate cancer."
“If you trust in yourself, and believe in your dreams, and follow your star. . . you'll still get beaten by people who spent their time working hard and learning things and weren't so lazy.”
Re: I mourn the passing.
Shouldn't that be "morn the passing"?I mourn the passing.
I'll tell you a word that's starting to get on my nerves...
"Transformative".....
"It was a transformative event", "it has a transformative message", "I really found it to be a transformative experience", etc.....
The only thing that's "transformative" is a shape shifter....

1. Feel or show deep sorrow or regret for (someone or their death), typically by following conventions such as the wearing of black clothes.
2. Feel regret or sadness about (the loss or disappearance of something).

I think it must just be in ascii CP. Hard as it may be for those who know me only on here to believe I am told repeatedly that I missed my calling that I should have been in standup.
Now you on the other hand are practical choice impaired as I see it.

"Between you and I," he said, "I could care less."
Sometimes it seems as though one has to cross the line just to figger out where it is

I weep for the copy desks of America, where my youth was so obviously misspent.
GAH!
Re: I mourn the passing.
Reading this morning's SF Chrionicle travel section, I happened upon an article about the Oktoberfest in Germany.
"Bottomless stiens of beer".
TooFunny

Your collective inability to acknowledge this obvious truth makes you all look like fools.
