Cricket Balls are a Delicacy
Re: Cricket Balls are a Delicacy
It says something when watching a ball being made for a sport is far more interesting and engaging then watching the sport itself...

It's a little, but not much, more automated these days.
“If you trust in yourself, and believe in your dreams, and follow your star. . . you'll still get beaten by people who spent their time working hard and learning things and weren't so lazy.”
Re: Cricket Balls are a Delicacy
I checked out that very video after watching Joe's (I went to Youtube fully expecting to see that the craftsmanship from 58 years ago had probably been replaced by mass production)
I'll give the cricket ball makers their props; there's still a lot of craftsmanship involved...
At least insofar as the top of the line Kookaburra ball is concerned...
I was curious as to how much these balls cost; apparently a single brand new Kookaburra ball will set you back about $68.00...

(The public can buy them for $813 a dozen; presumably the national cricket teams that use them get them for somewhat less...)
