While I've never minded sausages in natural casings or even chitlins (chitterlings?), it appears these are from the small intestines; this lower (large) intestine sausages sound positively foul. I doubt I could get beyond that smell either.

I'm with you on that. Sausage is an iffy proposition to start with. The descriptions and pix for this one are not really helping.
GAH!

The day the sausage made me cry was a couple of years ago when we stayed in Vendee. We spotted them in the supermarket this morning but gave them a swerve.

Today for lunch we had rillettes on baguette and a glass of Normandy cider. Delicious!

Rubato eating colon smacks too much of cannibalism to me.

Pretty much as obvious as the difference between chicken salad, and chicken, uh, well you know...

(Of course if telling the difference between chicken salad and chicken, uh, well, you know is challenging for you, I can see where you might become confused...)

Those are good, LJ. I'm happy to cook me up some of those anytime I can get away with it.

Thanks a whole bunch LJ. For some reason your pics have me singing "Lorena" all the time

Took the dogs to the beach at Creances yesterday. Stunning place, didn't see another soul for the best part of an hour. The lads were super tired last night.

Back home, we managed to cram 30 odd wine boxes into the car as well :)

Gonna be a good summer.

Yep, though no cab sauv as we don't really like it.

Lots of Bordeaux and cotes du rhone, some Gris, some Picpoul de Pinet and some Sauvignon Blanc.
