Funny thing is it seems that the ladies on this forum have accepted inevitability and pretty much know what they want for their mortal remains, whilst the menfolk are happily in denial.

We deal in reality every day. They deal in, well, whatever it is the male brain perceives as reality.

Now, now CP; "the menfolk" appear to consist of rubato, jim, and gob only.

Perhaps the executors will consider that eventually the sun will go nova and blast the earth out into space which is much the same thing, and uses less of your estates residue. Less trouble.

I'm just saying.

BUT for $75,000 you can take a trip to the edge of space now! (pretty soon anyway)

If I had $75,000 burning a hole in my pocket, or the knowledge of impending and certain mortality, I'd try it myself.

The ashes launches aren't all that expensive tbh they range between $1,000 and $5,000 and considering my life insurance coverage is pretty decent then my estate can certainly afford it, also since the launches are quite infrequent at the moment it'll be a while after my death before I'm launched so my family can have a nice USA vacation on me as well if they want to come watch. My son wants the same thing and has always known and approved of my wishes so he'll make sure they are carried out, especially as he knows that I have had to agree to a cremation to be able to do this and I hate the whole concept of cremation.
If you can keep your head while those around you are losing theirs, you may have misjudged the situation.
