Back to my point, the directors and producers of Game of Thrones have obviously chosen to have the characters speak with a generic English accent - even the actors who are Scots, Irishmen, and Americans (Therion). It's obviously not a result of the location of shooting (which takes place in more than one country), but rather a conscious choice. Why?

As for the program itself (I watched the entire four-season run over the past month), I'm not much bothered by the gore (offset by the T&A) but I think the various supernatural phenomena (ice zombie soldiers, dragons, giants, etc) are pointless and detract from the overall story.

We haven't been watching this, (I don't know how, but somehow I got the impression this was basically a romantic soap opera type thing, done in costume) but now that hear they have Ice Zombie Soldiers, I'll definitely check it out...
