That sounds like a great time. Who cares if it's hot? They sell ice cream there.

Have fun, post some pix!

95 is a little warm for me. 85 and no humidity I can handle.

The coasters look great! Which ones did you ride?

Well, having two very different age levels, we did a variety of different rides...

I'm not a huge roller coaster fan, but I did The Roar; Tati and her friend went on more of them (they tried to get me on The Medusa, but that wasn't happening) I was perfectly happy to stick with Jimmy and his buddy doing the water rides and the kiddie rides and the bumper cars...

I also like the shows, and the animal attractions, (they've got some great animal "close encounter" exhibitions; my favorite is riding the elephant) we spent time checking those out as well as playing some of the games...

There's so much to do there that the time just flies by, and after one day you only get to do and see a fraction what you'd like to.

Sis-in-law brought her kids to town from dreary rainy Seattle, so I skipped out on work again yesterday to head back to the beach:

This summer has been chock full of spectacular weather, and yesterday was no exception. I just can't see wasting such gorgeous days in an office. (Please don't tell my boss!)

They are just unedited iphone snaps. The first one is from the chair on my beach -- watching the boyz fooling around in my bright yellow kayak. The second is the same boyz at Plimouth Plantation - they settlers were building a new house and the gardens looked lovely and lush!

Y not?

They are nice pictures.

That's how I recall it being spelled when I visited years ago--perhaps it was an old English spelling of Plymouth?

That's what they call it. Of course, it is in Plymouth, MA.

It you didn't know, the interpreters stay "in character" and use old English speech. It is really rather fun to try and talk with them - most are quite good!

I lived in Plymouth for about two years. cape cod is a lot like where I m from, the eastern shore, or Delmarva if you prefer.

instead of crabs there were lobsters, instead of corn, cranberries. rockfish (stripers) both places.

there were even a few country boys left.

I liked it.

I really liked the fact that lobsters were so cheap. I miss that...

Wes, I'm from Maryland, and my family were some of the early settlers of the eastern shore (although I grew up outside of Baltimore). I've been up here in eastern MA for 15 years now -- it is lovely but the lobsters are not as cheap as they used to be!

we may be related then, we both seem to have a talent for presenting an argument.

I know that I have ancestors in the young family the Hopkins family and I believe the jones family from the lower eastern shore and that they go way back

also native American from around here, tho it doesn t show up in the way we look now. some of my deceased relatives you could see it in.

my father was a Wilkerson from Delaware but I don t know his families roots

It's actually 'Plimoth', not Plimouth.

In Plymouth, of course. ;)
