Eichlers are well-known fire traps.

Your collective inability to acknowledge this obvious truth makes you all look like fools.

A quality they share with all older homes:

Finally checking in (thanks for wondering about me!).

I slept through the whole thing; didn't know about 'til the next morning when my father called to see if I was OK. Steve felt it; he had woken up a bit earlier and hand't yet gone back to sleep.

Nothing in our house moved an inch (and we've got a LOT of stuff that could have fallen).

A friend who lives in downtown Napa lost all of his glassware, and 9" of water sloshed out of his pool. He's recently done a lot of work on the house, including adding plywood shear wall panels (?), so the structure of the house is (we all hope) fine.

A friend who lives in Rohnert Park (half way between Petaluma and Santa Rosa) had a few things tip over, but nothing broken. Dog and 3 cats in full freak-out mode.

LJ, how did the pooches react?

The dogs did a little growling and barking and running around, (like they were looking for the "intruder" who caused the noise in the house that they weren't familiar with ) , but it was the cat that really got spooked...

She started running around all over the place and then went and hid somewhere downstairs until the middle of the afternoon.

Glad all was well with you.

Glad you're ok Kristina!

Jim, that must be the first time the earth moved for your missus in a long time! :D
