Re: What's (in) your bag.
In my "weekend" bag (smallish cross-body sling): wallet, iPhone, lip balm, lip gloss, sunglasses, kleenex, kind bar, pens, journal, reading glasses.
In my weekday bag (larger tote-sized bag): small cosmetic case for touch-ups, lipstick, lip balm, mirror, pens, kleenex, reading glasses, paycheck stub (we got paid on Thursday and haven't moved it over to my filing pile yet), one redweld file and three notebooks, plus assorted legal research, and a jar of tums. Tomorrow the journal, iPhone, wallet and sunglasses will join this bag. The work papers vary, depending on volume. If I have a lot of work to do and papers/documents to transport, then I carry a briefcase as well.
My wallet contains: MA drivers license, MA bar card, health and dental cards, debit card, credit card, a couple of store cards, some affinity cards (REI, Beerworks, Talbots, Marathon sports, Starbucks, Tusk & Cup, sandwich shop in my building), business cards (mine and others), dry cleaning receipt, roll of tums, $21 cash plus an emergency $50 stashed separately, and about $2 in change. And of course my library card, which I never need because the librarians all know me and I've got my number memorized.
