Well I don't know where that last "white male" quote comes from (or what the point was) but it's wrong to criticize the first part. ETA: Oh I see what he was doing - duh on me. As Scooter states below, he was replacing professed Christian with the words "white male" to explain his point. Better if he hadn't put it in as a quote but I was dull not to spot that.

Obviously his statement means (and can only mean) that at one time he used to hear that nobody but a white person could ever get elected president. I remember people saying that in my lifetime too.
