WhoDoesHeThinkHeIs? Stephen Colbert?
Re: WhoDoesHeThinkHeIs? Stephen Colbert?
Mildly amusing...
Obviously it's this years version of the Between Two Ferns thing he did last year to try and get 20 somethings signed up during open enrollment....

I liked the bit about how going on a comedy show would be beneath his dignity -- but above his approval rating.

GAH!

I love Barack Obama - he is cool AND very smart, the President in my lifetime of whom I am proudest (but still, much disappointed by - like signing the NDAA
).

poor girl drank the kool aid....
Re: WhoDoesHeThinkHeIs? Stephen Colbert?
I'm not a 'poor girl' and I haven't drunk any 'kool aid', wesw.
Our current President, like me, overcame difficult childhood/family of origin circumstances to ultimately earn a law degree from a top tier law school - he's very intelligent, very witty, very well-spoken and shows true caring towards regular people.
In this regard, perhaps he shines so brightly in my mind because he presents such a starkly different persona from the lackluster dud that held the office for 8 years prior.
I could list dozens of mistakes I think Obama made, and a few things he did that were a disappointment that hurt my heart.
But overall, I'm glad I voted for him twice and I think he's done a very good job balanced against the absolute obstructionism of the Republicans during his tenure, and having inherited the worst economic circumstances faced by this country since the Great Depression.
FYI, I really don't dig the one-liner insults; I'm far more complicated than to be summed up in such limited terms, and I would imagine you might be, too. Which is why I didn't respond by posting 'poor redneck drinks the Fox kool aid'.

Does that obstructionism include Harry Ried and his not bringing close to 300 bills (many of which were penned by his fellow dems and more than a few had bipartisan support) passed by the house up to vote in the senate?against the absolute obstructionism of the Republicans during his tenure,
He may be all that, but I do think he is in over his head. I don't think he really cares about us "regular" people. To me he seems arrogant and thinks he knows whats good for me, a regular person.he's very intelligent, very witty, very well-spoken and shows true caring towards regular people.

Thanks Joe. Saves me posting the cat vomit picture
For Christianity, by identifying truth with faith, must teach-and, properly understood, does teach-that any interference with the truth is immoral. A Christian with faith has nothing to fear from the facts

that too, was a joke.
I am glad you changed your signature. it was confusing me. first it said something about being humble. then, the next line said something about being a super genius, and the difficulty of dealing with less intelligent people. then , the last one said something about not liking mean people.
each line seeming to contradict the previous line. maybe it was a joke?

No, not a joke. I'm capable of holding contradictory positions, being a fairly complex person.wesw wrote:that too, was a joke.

Ever heard of Walt Whitman?
Anyway, it's possible to possess humility whilst also being smarter than average and occasionally annoyed by those who aren't and yes, always, MEAN PEOPLE SUCK.
