This just in... CIA admits playing Gob's music to suspected terrorists. "More effective than waterboarding" reports a Cuban source known only as El Jay. Sorry. Stopping in 4 3 2 1 now.

I don't know about this....

We want the terrorists to provide intel, not hang themselves....

This may be a bridge too far...waterboarding, sleep deprivation, sure...

But there are some levels of cruelty even I can't accept...

I've new tune out soon, it's a deconstruction of Leonard Cohen's greatest riffs, slowed down to 2 bpm and played on bagpipe drones.

I'm sending LJ and Meade a loop of it.

Speaking of what the kids are listening to these days, I think this has been a pretty good year for pop music generally (if you ignore Katy Perry, which I do), but this late entry to the charts last month from Bruno Mars and Mark Ronson is frickin' awesome; hitting Number 3 this week on the Billboard Hot 100, but should definitely be Number 1 by New Year's Eve. Here, get yourself some of that uptown funk:

Any song that starts out by praising Michelle Pfeiffer as the shizzle (rather than someone 30 years her junior) is automatically all right in my book, and the throw-back funk groove is just killing it all over the place. I dare you not to dance.

Another from my new project... this time with a local theme. :)

Why is it that when Miley Cyrus gets naked and licks a hammer it's 'art' and 'edgy' but when I do it I'm 'drunk' and 'banned from the hardware store'?

Hey, that's Jordi's kid! Nice! I didn't know she was working with Dumbledore, though.

Also, did you know that she sings, too? (Not crazy about the echo-y acoustics here, but she has a nice tone and good control. Singing starts at about 3:00.)

Oh, you'll like this, Gob. A selection of pieces, better sound and some unusual ancient instruments:
