Terrorist Attack In Paris
Re: Terrorist Attack In Paris
Jim--the last I heard on the radio, the two gunmen on the run took a man hostage in the town they're cornered in.
wes--as koshering is similar to the preparation of halal meat, some of my moslem friends told me observant moslems could eat kosher meat in a pinch--certainly preferable to ordinary meat. But I imagine it would depend on the sect and traditions followed.

Re: Terrorist Attack In Paris
Just watching CNN etc and reports are that hostages have been freed at both locations. The two newspaper/magazine gunmen have been granted their wish to become martyrs. Don't know about the two who were holding 5 hostages but there were simultaneous assaults at both places. VIve la France et à l'enfer avec les djihadistes

Re: Terrorist Attack In Paris
One terrorist at the market apparently has also gone to meet Allah...
They're saying that the woman may have slipped away, and also that some of the hostages at the market may have been killed.

AND THE BIG QUESTION IS...
... who is next?
See something... say something.
See something... say something.

RR, islamists rear their ugly head?
Re: Terrorist Attack In Paris
No argument there wes; these are thugs who happen to be moslem and use a complete misunderstanding/perversion of their religion to act like assholes.
Re: Terrorist Attack In Paris
well I was talking about the circumcision joke but...
I m pretty sure a lot of what they do comes straight from their prophets mouth but.....
I guess I d better read the Koran......

Oh, the circumcision joke--that makes more sense. Re my previous post, in the words of Emily Litella--never mind.
As for learning/understanding what islam teaches, I think we would all do well to look at the Koran rather than biased diatribes/summaries. Or we could talk to moslems we know.

So, more Islamist attacks on innocent people.
The left are going to have to feel even more sorry for Muslims now, just to make themselves feel better.

I feel sorry for Muslims who have to put up with this kind of dickishness just because a couple of assholes shouted "Allahu akhbar" while committing their crimes.Gob wrote:So, more Islamist attacks on innocent people.

I guess you're not following this story very closely...a couple of assholes shouted "Allahu akhbar" while committing their crimes.
There's a helluvalot more of an international terrorism element involved in this than that minimizing, dismissive comment of yours would indicate.

So they're international assholes. Still a couple of assholes.Lord Jim wrote:I guess you're not following this story very closely...a couple of assholes shouted "Allahu akhbar" while committing their crimes.

Do you think I don't? Do you think I believe the victims somehow had it coming? But I'm not about to hold "Muslims" or "Islam" responsible for the acts of a gang of assholes, anymore than I'd hold Christianity and Christians generally responsible for the Westboro Baptist Church, David Koresh or Warren Jeffs.Gob wrote: I feel sorry for the people who got shot dead because a couple of assholes shouted "Allahu akhbar" while committing their crimes.

Of course I would never think that of you.Sue U wrote: Do you think I don't? Do you think I believe the victims somehow had it coming? Some idiots out there though....

Re: Terrorist Attack In Paris
I find your analogy to be totally baseless, Sue. In this day and age the Christian religion does not and never will shelter the likes of Westboro, Koresh or Jeffs, the latter of which is not and never was a Christian by the way. In other piss-poor comparative stakes, none of the aforementioned have flown planes into New York buildings, blown up a bus in London or a train in Madrid, sawn the heads off taxi-drivers, murdered AID workers, slaughtered journalists, mercilessly killed Christians, homosexuals, women and children. Not does Christianity have as a major core tenet the compulsory conversion of all non-believers with execution behind door number 2. Fail. Fail. Fail.
A certain thinker once said: Many people think it impossible for guerrillas to exist for long in the enemy's rear. Such a belief reveals lack of comprehension of the relationship that should exist between the people and the troops. The former may be likened to water the latter to the fish who inhabit it. How may it be said that these two cannot exist together?
He could have added, the latter required the former in order to exist, and the former support and nourish the latter.

Gob--there are all kinds of idiots, but I never met one yet who profess the belief you suggest Gob.
Meade--I agree with you that persons who commit atrocities in the name of Christ are not Christians just as I think persons who commit atrocities in the name of allah or the prophet are not moslems. As for conversion, for many Christians, the ultimate goal is to establish the kingdom of Christ in the world, where all shall profess him as the Christ and every knee shall bow, etc. Would you disagree?
Wes--spitting when you mention Israel or denial it has a right to exist (much as we denied the PRC, N Korea, or Cuba had a right to exist, are nowhere near killing of people. Destroying western civilization--you mean like how we had to use manifest destiny to rid the Americas of the savages? Rhetoric is rhetoric; people are free to say what they want (unless we want to be like the jerks who shot up the offices in paris); I don't punish rhetoric, just actions.
