He speaks of (arguably unreliable) tools God gave them to be responsible with family planning but refuses to acknowledge that latex and the chemicals used to make birth control pills were also a gift from his God.

Only after man refined/combined/manufactured them.
But of course it was God who gave man the intelligence to do those things.

Re: Like Bunnies
I think everyone should be careful of the "gift from God" argument. It's somewhat bankrupt.
The fact that there is a Creation - gift from God. That there is salvation - gift from God.
In between, fallen man has employed the fallen world to do the best he can (or woman the best she can, as is applicable) - or the worst, in some cases, right across gender lines. But usually it's men who've had the most opportunity to publicly shit or shine.
There's not a sausage (perhaps an unfortunate idiom) in the Bible that suggests there is anything "wrong" with birth control. That's the hobgoblin of the Roman creed.

For Christianity, by identifying truth with faith, must teach-and, properly understood, does teach-that any interference with the truth is immoral. A Christian with faith has nothing to fear from the facts

I don't know about that...I think everyone should be careful of the "gift from God" argument. It's somewhat bankrupt.
I've told both of my kids at various times that I see them that way, and I don't see the "argument" as "bankrupt" ...
I think it's quite legitimate...

I know of many Catholics who turn a deaf ear on the "birth control" teachings of the Catholic Church.

See, LJ. That's why it needs to be carefully considered before spouting off - unless one is prepared for a lengthy (and fruitless) theological debate; the kind that always wastes time and annoys the pig.rubato wrote:Deer ticks, poison oak, leishmaniasis and staph aureus are all gifts from god as well.

Re: Like Bunnies
rube, I have no ironclad truths about it, but it seems likely that lyme disease became rampant in the eastern US after escaping from plum island, a biological warfare research facility.
there is much more to the theory, and it even involves cold war geo politics and cold warfare. I really don t even like discussing anything with you tho. you have a bad attitude.
have a nice day

I'm pretty sure this theory is what wes is talking about:
Another source:
Enough coincidence and circumstantial evidence to support a good conspiracy theory (and a book--of course there's a book!) but nothing conclusive and I for one am not convinced.
People who are wrong are just as sure they're right as people who are right. The only difference is, they're wrong.

Re: Like Bunnies
I m not totally convinced either, but it seems likely to me. I did a bit of research on lyme disease years ago and the theory rings true to me.
and I m not saying that the govt created lyme disease, only that they explored using it as a weapon to deplete Russia s necessary resources. one or two oopsies later.....

So you now repudiate this statement and agree that it is pure shit:

I'm sure it is pleasanter to talk with people who accept your horseshit comments at face value. But sometimes the path to a better you leads through difficulties.
